The Expected Role of Women

     In the article "An American Role-Reversal: Women The New Breadwinners,"the author claims that men are better workers than women. I believe that women are just as capable as men. Men can be stronger but that doesn't mean they should have better jobs.
      Not a lot of men would quit their jobs for the women's career advancements. The "house wife" role has been a disappointment him. He is saying that he shouldn't be the one who is staying at home with the children. He was being very sexist. "She earns enough, so I don't have to work." He goes back on what he said and starts talking about how she is smart and that she makes good money so he doesn't have to work.
     I think that women should be offered good jobs because it is hard to be a single mother and working at a low paying job. My mother was a single parent and she was working 2 jobs just to support my brothers and I. She had the opportunity to better herself through working. She had to raise 3 kids and without the right amount of money she would've never made it. There are many single mothers that cant get jobs so they turn to welfare and food stamps. When women can't work they are making the government pay for the things they buy. They don't get to have jobs like men do. i think many places are sexist because they don't want women employees. They think that women are the weaker sex.
     I do believe that women should be considered equal in the workplace. Men can get better jobs because most of the time they are stronger and more capable of harder things. Women can not always work in construction or jobs like that but we can be office assistants or jobs that don't require a lot of manual labor. Like I have previously stated there are some jobs that women might not feel as comfortable doing as men could be. This does not mean that they should be payed more or have more opportunities than women do.
